Sanbuk: “Sanbuk” or “Sanbuk” is one of the most important types of traditional ships in Qatar and the Arabian Gulf, which was previously used for fishing and pearl diving; it is a wooden sailing ship characterized by a distinctive keel design, with a sharp curve below the top of the front. The length of the base of the sanbuk, called “Al-Bais”, ranges between 40 and 60 feet, and it has two masts and a large number of oars. Its capacity ranges between 15 and 60 tons. The sanbuk is characterized by a semi-square stern decorated with engravings and ornaments. It is currently used for fishing and transportation between nearby ports, as well as a tourist boat to take tourists on a tour of the territorial waters of the State of Qatar.
